Today, my husband rescued our daughter's cat from a tree. She spent the next hour clapping and telling me how much of a hero he was. Last night at 2am I was awoken by meowing and had to rescue the same cat from the same tree, in the dark, and halfway down he shit on me. No one called me a hero. FML

Hey people, my mom's the OP and she says to tell you, "Jesus, calm down guys, I was more upset about the cat ******** on me than my daughter not giving me the praise. The pisser here was that I had to do it in the middle of the night (which resulted in a bunch of scratches, both from the tree and the cat) while my husband got the easier job (yet again). The little party for my husband afterward was just the icing on the cake. Still love him though." Also, we have a retarded cat. If you leave it up there to figure out it's own way down, it'll stay up there for days, meowing.

Okay... you are smart and mature enough to type that and are allowed to view the more mature FMLs on this site, yet you cannot climb the tree yourself? The kicker is that a person of your age, at least a teenager, spent an "hour clapping and telling me how much of a hero he was" for getting a cat out of a tree. As will any cat that is truly stuck. But by the OPs description of climbing up to get the cat, the cat couldn't have been stuck unless the cat had some type of phsyical anomaly. And one that severe would reasonably be a house cat only

Actually, it's: "Poor me, I'm a petty woman who likes to whine about no one seeing me do something that sounds like common practice at 2 in the ******* morning..." Its amazing you can climb that high - I've seen cats 80 feet up that had no trouble getting down facing toward the ground. Just how high was your cat? And think about it, a cat can jump further than you can climb - if you can climb to where the cat is, he isn't stuck. If the branches support your weight, they can definately support his jumping on them

I have had cats all my life. 5 to be exact-not all at the same time though. Cats are perfectly capable of climbing trees-thats what they DO..and they can get themselves back down. Chances are if it was in a tree..it wanted to be away from you guys
