So then after taxes you get married again? You could make this a yearly thing.

I know of couples who are "separated", but live in the same house for tax breaks. Just another way to beat the system I guess.

Definately more to it then that ,go to a specalist if no real reason is spoken to get to the end of it

Seriously? He couldn't grow a pair and just tell you he doesn't want to be with you? Pathetic.

Or maybe he isn't pathetic and you are just being judgmental and jumping to conclusions.

Well as long as you still love each other it's okay.....right?

Depending on how much you two make, might be beneficial in the long run.... but should have looked at that before getting married... I wouldn't go for divorce though.

Not trying to start anything but clearly money is more important to your husband. Its sad how people want to deny gays the right to marry for love when so many others get married for the wrong reasons.

it doesn't mean he loves her any less.

Are you really trying to turn this FML into a platform for gay marriage? Gay people aren't any better than straight people. I guarantee you some of them would do the same thing. The guy is a jerk plain and simple. Don't turn this into a heterosexual vs homosexual ethical debate.

55- I can say what I please. I'm not violating any guidelines. I'm not saying every straight acts this way but I definitely don't know any gays that would act this way. All I'm saying is that it's not fair that straights can just take marriage for granted when so manh gays would love that same right.

I think I understand your point of view. However, why base all straight couples on this one particular couple, or a few you might know? And you haven't met every gay person in the world. Some people are hateful jerks regardless of their sexual preference, beliefs, etc. That's just how the world is. And hopefully in a due time, equality for all is apparent, but I don't think taking to the FML comments influences many. I'm not challenging your point, by the way. I agree with a few things in it. I just didn't like the generalization in it.

75- All I was trying to illustrate was that people can get married for shit reasons but two people that actually love each other can't get married. Since the only other option besides homosexual marriage is heterosexual marriage, I'm using that as an example. Excuse me for expressing an opinion. I never once said that all straights are that way. Thanks.

So basically you made a comparison between the possible five gay people you know to every straight couple in the United states that divorces? Good way to not start anything

Yes, gay people should be able to get married. Yes, the whole 'sanctity of marriage' argument is bullshit because people get married for all kinds of reasons, not all of them good. But by saying that you couldn't imagine a gay person marrying for shitty reasons (but have no problem complaining about straight people doing so), you're implying that one sexuality is better than the other. You're not only completely off topic, but you're also just as judgemental and wrong as any homophobe.

91- Well it seemed you were implying that. And for the most part the two above me think that too. You can't base a whole group of people based on the few you know, otherwise your opinion is basically thrown out the window. And I never had a problem with your opinion... you can share it as you please. Just be ready for any back lash. Don't get rude about it.

Okay the argument is over. You all are too basic to talk to. You also all have the comprehension. skills of 2 years so I'm done.

If you didn't start your post off with an instant example of your evident close mindedness, there wouldn't have been a problem. You also modelled your close mindedness again when you "ended" this with a response similar to a 10 year old.

wasn't the movie "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" about exploiting gay marriage/civil union?

is he trying to be sneaky? like "i promise its for tax purposes only" ?

Take half his stuff and ask him if he's better off, for tax purposes

Immature to not just come to you and be honest :(

I thought this site would be cool, but they just publish anything!!! of course this comment will be deleted, but it's true
