18emikot tells us more.
We have a Chihauhau and a Springer. The Chihauhau rarely goes out and only has a few teeth left so I doubt she could hurt someone. Our Springer is a sweetheart, she's all bark but no bite. Whoever she goes out she wears a bark collar and the remote is always by someone's side. There are no protruding branches in our driveway. None. We trim them regularly.

He sounds like a coward who doesn't want to do his job. If the dogs are inside or in a fenced backyard while he's delivering, they are not a threat to him, at least not an immediate one. As for the branches, just drive or walk around them. How hard is that? I'd say to file a complaint against him. It's your mail. It's his job to deliver it, including the packages. He should not get to pick and choose what to deliver.
Not true. When you get hired at the Post Office you are require to attend training on delivering. Dog attack on USPS personnel are more common than you think. The USPS has a really bias and scare film you have to watch on how dogs will try at everything to bite you if you aren't aware or cautious. They teach error on the side of caution and not to put yourself at risk. Now, I know dogs are the problems it's morons that don't watch or care for their dogs. However, every rule or procedure the Government require is written in blood. The attacks happen and more times than not the worker gets screw, Not covered because of the aware training. I don't know why you have so much hate for them but the USPS hasn't hired a full time employee in years so all of the new people are highly expendable. I worked for them and the policy is one mistake in the first 90 shifts then auto-dismiss. Then after that it is a case by case. So, just maybe he's not a coward and just wants to keep his job and follow the rules.
Wow, I thought canada post was bad. We can get written up and need to attend more training (for bee/wasp stings too haha) but they can't fire us for being attached (they may try but the union prevents it) there was a guy last winter who got hit by a car while parked on the side of the road (the car that hit him was close enough to the postal vehicle that they took off the side mirror) and the corporation tried to blame the postal worker. Would that be considered a mistake on the mailman's part for usps? (Legit question)
My mom and aunt are USPS. It's actually common for USPS to refuse to go near a house with an overactive dog because you can't trust someone else's dog not to bite you. If they get bit and need stitches and the post office can legally go after you to put your dog down or sue. Precautions are good.
I worked as a rural driver, For the USPS and we were told to report all house that dogs were loose or not maintain. There is a risk then they will be require them to pick there mail up at the post office. There are tons of dog attacks on USPS Personnel a year. The trees is the exact reason I got fired from the post office. A branch cracked the mirror and I was let go. Any, and I mean any, damage to the USPS vehicle can warrant being fired. They aren't lazy there aren't trying to make you life difficult they are doing the job the way they are told to.
I know a LOT of lazy mailmen in my depot that make the hard working ones look bad. But it sounds like usps is a lot harder on their employees than Canada post.
That deliver guy sounds like a complete Asshole. He needs to be fired.
Well depending on the situation with the dogs I can understand that. As a service person I am becoming more nervous of dogs on the job because they get territorial and people never think their dogs will ever bite when they certainly might. If your dogs were outside when he had to come to the door or got out and scared him I can understand that. The tree branch thing too, we have no idea what is meant by hazardous. Are they hanging dangerously low? We just don't know the story. This could use a follow up.
There's always one of those people who complain about everything. My dog is always in a fenced in area and he barks from afar and we've had a mailman report us because he felt threatened. They're just ridiculous.
Does he look like a b*tch?
replace the branches with swords, that should help, helpful advice from me (•,•)

Ugh, we had a postal worker once that kept getting mad at us because she had to take the larger packages up to the door. I'm sooo sorry you have to do your job.
Why can't he just walk where the branches aren't hanging over the driveway?
