18emikot tells us more.
We have a Chihauhau and a Springer. The Chihauhau rarely goes out and only has a few teeth left so I doubt she could hurt someone. Our Springer is a sweetheart, she's all bark but no bite. Whoever she goes out she wears a bark collar and the remote is always by someone's side. There are no protruding branches in our driveway. None. We trim them regularly.

Our local mailman won't deliver our mail if the door is open, because the mailbox is right next to it, and he's scared that my dog will jump up and break through the glass.
It may not be because the dog might break the glass, but because screen doors don't ways latch properly. I've had a dog jump up on the door and it opened. I'm happy he was friendly.
dogs bark.....
Lol. Pansy shouldn't be a letter carrier then
I had to check where you live. I thought we had the same wuss of a mailman.
I have a mail man like that. He's an old rude asshole that won't come into the yard because my dog has barked and growled in he past. My dog's now in our backyard fence. He has no excuse, but he still won't come into the yard.
Why do i feel like theres more to this story? What did u do in the past to piss him off? Lol
So basically, he's stating that he's not interested in doing his job?
well, duh--if they can't safely perform their job, then yeah, they're not going to. trim your trees, and control your dogs, OR you can pick up your mail at the post office.
to anyone commenting after the OP, learn to read the follow up. You know, the one where she explained that there are no branches, and that her dogs are harmless.
You need to read the reply's left by the USPS workers. If you had you would know that... 1. They are trained to NOT deliver, for their safety, if a dog is barking 2. One actually got bitten as the dogs owner was telling her how friendly the dog is. 3. They are trained to avoid situation where the delivery vehicle might get damaged, and can get disciplined, up to termination, if it does. In addition, at least two people have pointed out that smaller dogs, like the one's OP described, are more likely to bite. If you're going to tell people to read previous posts before they comment, you should make sure you have first.
It's amazing how many people comment without reading the comments.
I didn't say anything about what the man was doing with his job. I said that people need to read what the OP said because people were telling her to trim her trees after she said there were no branches hanging over the driveway.
I had this war with my letter carrier. She would drive up so fast and skid on in my grass and floor it leaving that she dug a trench in front of my mailbox. I complained then my mail stated getting "lost" and she complained about our non existent dog. Then she literally hit our box and knocked it over. I put it up an inch too far back and she stopped delivering until it was moved back. I finally just put it at the edge of the road so she couldn't tear up my yard anymore. She still hit my box almost daily but I had a thick ass pipe and it was cemented down 5 feet. And I set up a camcorder. It wasn't until we fought her on tape that they switched her to a new route. That was 4 years of hell I wouldn't want to repeat.

Ugh, we had a postal worker once that kept getting mad at us because she had to take the larger packages up to the door. I'm sooo sorry you have to do your job.
Why can't he just walk where the branches aren't hanging over the driveway?
