Today, my mother found out that I'm sexually active. She wants me to tell my father. I'm seventeen, and my father still has trouble grasping the fact that I carry a purse, because it means I'm "growing up." This should be fun. FML

Not being able to tell your dad comfortably=not willing to accept the consequences of having sex. You get pregnant, and you're ******... I don't care what age people start doing 'it', but I wish they'd realize that there are real risks and the love they feel for the guy they're having sex with at the time might turn into hate or just diminish. YDI OP, good luck telling your father.

i would go wiiff #43's idea :P

YDI for fornicating. YDI for carrying a purse. YDI for having parents.

just don't tell him and then ur mom will either have to tell him herself or just not tell him at all (WARNING: all parents are different, ur mom may have a trick up her sleeve)

can i just ask y its so hard to wqit till marraige to have sex? i mean seriousky, every time i read "sex with my boyfriend" on an FML i just think "**** **** **** ****"

You just made me puke. Is this 1732? Why the F are you even on the computer then? They are the tool of the devil just like a penis if it's not married.

People, you may disagree about the morality or immorality of having sex before marriage, but please remember that the time period has NOTHING to do with it. It's a question of morality, and morality is not affected by chronological location. People sinned in 1732, people sinned in the 1950s, and people sin today. Disagree about what constitutes sin all you want, but get yourself a better argument than chronology.

The point is Nun, there is no such thing as sin anymore... hahahahaha yeah put that in your pipe and smoke it. There is just right and wrong. And sex is right ;-)

If you don't have the balls to talk to your parents about this then why are you even having sex. Seriously, people that bitch about the consequences of having sex when it was totally consensual are irrational. Like for example #34 who's worried that her parents might get really mad if they'd found out, that indicates that you're really not ready to be doing it anyway.

I love the people saying she's a **** just because she had sex before marriage/she's 17. Having sex before marriage or before your 20's does not make you a ****. I know plenty of people who really are *****, but not necessarily because of these reasons. I'm sexually active, and nobody I know would say I'm a ****, since I was with my boyfriend, who I'm engaged to now, for over a year and a half before we did anything physical. Christ, people are so judgmental, as if they've never done anything wrong or made any mistakes.

oooo that sucks. I see no need for your dad to know unless ur prego. but op I know how you feel.

61- puberty happens so that children can be made not so 12 year olds can have sex

So you are saying we should have children at 12? Excellent.

100 - you're an idiot. and that's how it used to be. anyway, when a girl gets her period, her body is able to have a child. That doesn't mean that she's emotionally or psychologically ready for it, or even financially for that matter. On top of that, just because a girl has her period, doesn't mean that she's not still going through puberty. Most people still consider 12 prepubescent.
