Today, my neighbor went on vacation, leaving me in charge of his cat and dog. For some reason, he calls his dog "Cat" and his cat "Dog". There are two pet food containers, one labeled "Cat" and the other labeled "Dog". I have no idea which one goes to which animal. FML

What does it look like? Depending on brand cat food is usually triangular. But I would say go with the smallest kibble size for the cat and the bigger ones for the dog.

cats actually important for a cat to eat cat food over dog food. the reason is because cats need taurine in their diet. dog food doesn't have the taurine in it like cat food does. if a cat is deprived of this for a good period of time, it can cause health problems.

How long can the neighbour be gone for? If it's a week or more, he would have left a number to call. If only two days, I doubt the cat will fall dead over eating dog food.

Lack of taurine causes cataracts and eventual blindness, not death, but it definitely does take a while before it negatively affects them. You would be more likely to have to worry about diarrhea from the sudden food change.

Have you tried looking at the size and shape cuz even small dog food has a different shape then cat food
