You should always set your own standards to your benefit. That's what the dictionary says
Just work until your feet fall off you will get stronger
And then won't have any feet to get to work with.
Don't be that hard on yourself , there is a lot of perspectives and factors that could play a great role in this. try to rethink the company standards and if you really meet it or not and forget about your new boss evaluation, wait for 2 or 3 months and see the results of the coming evaluation. any how good luck.
To those saying you shouldn't need validation to know how well you're working, I offer this counter point: a point of reference. My last job I was working retail. I would prep merchandise to be sent to the sales floor. For the first week or so I thought I was a model employee. Found out later my work wasn't up to par. Now, that was largely fixed by experience, but it just goes to show you can work your ass off but until someone tells you it's not enough that's all you know.
Keywords
"You never found it odd that none of your coworkers joined you on leave-two-hours-early Tuesdays or communicate-solely-by-blinking Fridays?" "My old supervisor never told me I wasn't meeting company standards!"
So long as you weren't fired, the issue is fixable. While it does suck that you spent so long underperforming and therefore not looking great to the company, just have a talk with your new supervisor about how you need to improve. Good luck, OP!
