Today, I got yelled at for 10 minutes by my head of department for failing one of my students for plagiarism, because, "we can't be sure." It was my work he plagiarised, but because it's not in our system, it doesn't count. FML

Today, I collected my students' final essays. One of them submitted a printout of a screenshot he took with his phone. Too bad a browser address bar was still in the shot, along with a "click to read more" link at the bottom. My students are too dumb and lazy to even plagiarize properly. FML

Today, my AP teacher once again accused me of plagiarism. Apparently the words "demise," "ultimately," and "rural," are too sophisticated for an 11th grade AP student to use and MUST have been copied from the Internet. FML

Today, I got a paper back that was given a zero for suspected plagiarism. Everything I wrote was my own thought and analysis. My instructor basically thinks my paper is smarter than I am. He won't listen, even when I explain my thought processes throughout the piece. FML

Considering Wikipedia is often wrong and teachers can easily tell when sites are plagiarized, let him do it and learn his lesson.

He is in for some trouble. Plagiarism is not taken lightly. Also, how does he NOT know what plagiarism is? My language arts teachers and English teachers have been hammering that in since elementary school.

You seriously need to tell him how serious plagiarism is. At best he'll get a zero and at worst he could get expelled from college and have a hard time getting into another one.

I understand how serious this is and how he can easily get kicked out. But seriously. To call him an idiot and tell him to fail and be kicked out and all that isn't the nicest thing to put up.
