my dad once bought my sister an iPhone 5s for my birthday. I got a 2 liter of Pepsi.

When it's your parent's birthday give a gift to the other and act confused if they ask why.

I kind of feel your pain, my family works the same. One year I got a card for my birthday, my brother got a laptop, a xbox 360 and 7 games for it. Two years ago I got a text that said "well done, you are not dead yet." For my birthday, my brother got given a brand new house. Favouritism sucks.

I think the line "he got a brand new house" immediately renders the argument "they fed and clothed you! They did their best! Just be grateful!" completely invalid. Unless you had a history of dangling your parents over shark tanks (and your brother had to keep rescuing them) there is no excuse for that level of favoritism. ...Seriously, I have terrific parents, but I have a hard time imagining them saying "Happy birthday! Here's your own private villa!"

I guess we know who the favorite is......

There comes a moment when we aren't an apple of an eye anymore. sad but true.

That's how you see who is the favourite.

I once got a gaming laptop for my birthday. My brother got a Nintendo Wii U

I don't get what's wrong here, you got the better of the two.

I've had similar happen. for my 18th I got a tescos value cd player. my sister got a saxophone other a laptop and brother an xbox. ..for My birthday!

WHY WOULD THEY BUY A MAC NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Macs are trash , apple is trash but if you like over paying I can under stand

Says the guy posting from the iPhone app. Are you friends with the secretly-gay gay-basher from the other FML? :-)

Hey man, to each their own. I love both Pc and Mac, however I find Mac suits my personal needs better (I'm an artist and I love the resolution and the wider range of apps I can use, also the multitasking is great if I'm working on reference sketches). I like my Mac, and I liked my PC. I just had to make the change due to my career path. I don't see the need of spending over $1000 on a computer if you aren't using it for a specific purpose...

My parents use to give my sister something SMALL on my birthday, and I would get something small on her's. Usually, it was like a stuffed animal or an action figure. Your brother sounds spoiled.

for years i had begged for a laptop. one magical christmas i watched both sisters and brother open new laptops. i opened a chess set.

Happy birthday OP. Not just wait for their birthdays and treat yourself on those days
