Today, my pet hedgehog thought it would be funny to roll around in the kitty litter. It was like washing a poopy cactus. FML

StinkyCactus tells us more.

"LOL U CANT HAS PET HEDGIE ITS EVIL/FAKE FAKE FAKE/WHO HAS PET HEDGEDOG NEWAYS?" Eat a dick. "Google." Seriously, do you people really think it's okay to just open your ignorant trap about every little thing you have a misinformed opinion about? Seriously, before you get all stupid on the internet, know what you're talking about. "I AM TEH HEDGEHAWG OWNUR GOD AND UR DOIN IT WRONG!" Yes, it was a mistake for her to get into the cat's litter, but other than that, she is very well taken care of and very happy. I have done a lot of research about the kind of hedgehog she is and how to take care of her, so rest assured, she is in good hands, so please, pull your head out of your ass. Again- know what you're talking about before you judge. "HOW I GETZ HOG? PLZ TELL MEEEEEEEEE" Google. Seriously! That's how I did. I heard people had them as pets, so, I started researching. I drove 3 hours to find a qualified breeder to pick up my baby hedgie, but only before I spent a good week reading literature and reading articles by owners and breeders about their health and what to expect. DO NOT go get a hedgie on a random whim- AGAIN- know what you're doing before taking on a pet, of any kind. If you think you're ready, and can legally own one, look up your local breeder and set it up. Thank you for everyone with pleasant comments and/or at least civil ones if you disagree with hedgehog ownership.

why do you have a hedgehog anyway?? :P

You have a hedgehog for a pet?! That's awesome! Here in CA you can't even legally have a ferret!

i have 3 pet hedgehogs and i breed them and have yet to have poopy cactus ... they are the coolest pets

#90, that's because ferrets are the worst pets ever. They'll rip your balls off without rhyme or reason. Consider it as if California is doing you a favor.

If your HH won't unball during a bath, you are doing it wrong. Make the level of the water just up to the chin level. They will unball and walk around instead of drowning. Never seen a HH roll around. Matter of fact, my HH has never rolled around. You have never had your HH poop on its wheel? Yours would be the first if it never has....which means that you would be used to cleaning poop off your HH's quills and feet. If you think taking care of your HH qualifies a FYL.... send the HH to a rescue because you are going to F its L up.

I'm not sure that really means they're neglecting it

HH's poop when they run. They run on their wheels. Quite frequently, the poop clings to the wheel and will fall of at the top... on the the HH's back. If they haven't cleaned poop off the HH's back, then they either aren't providing a wheel... which is pretty much the only way to give a HH enough exercise, or they aren't bathing it.... neglect. Some HH will run over 5 miles in a night on their wheels, according to odometers that people have attached to the wheels. The same that think cleaning poop of their HH is a burden are either new owners... suck it up, or not cleaning their Hedgehogs. They probably feed their HH spikes delight too (horrible food).

Dear presumptuous asshole- She was out for a run while I was cleaning her cage, as my small apartment is hedge-proofed- or so I thought. I also have cats, and she managed to crawl up into their litter box, being the little ninja she is, and didn't "roll" around it (it was an expression I was using), she just sorta trudged around in there. When I got her to put her back in her cage, there was lots of poop wedged in her quills and on her body. She didn't curl up for the bath either, she enjoyed it as she usually does, I was just referring to the quills and the poop lodged in them and thought "poopy cactus" was just a funny thing to say. I have had many pets in my time and don't mind at all cleaning the poop. I just thought it'd make for a funny FML. I have spent a lot of time researching proper hedgehog care and housing, and other than this mishap, she is very well cared for and a very happy and healthy hedgie.

Why do you have a pet hedgehog...who's name better be sonic lol
