Today, my phone rang while I was home alone. When I picked up, all I could hear was heavy breathing. Convinced it was one of my friends playing a joke, I said loudly, "Get off the phone, you fucker, and don't call back!" It turned out it was my grandma. She had been having a stroke. FML

ok, bad move. but if all you heard was heavy breathing, you'd think it was some creeper or a prank. so, yeah, i understand. hope your grandma is okay.

Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I hope she's okay.

Sorry but everyone should know 911, especially the elderly...it's three digits as opposed to 10. >>;

this is a fake fml because you've already posted one like this

That's scary!!! I can understand that you couldn't possibly know it was your Grandma so I hope she's okay! And you should get Caller ID, it's super useful ya know...

Not every phone has caller Id. My house phone doesn't.

Look on the bright side: if she survived she probably won't even remember it

It seems that no one has caller id anymore? But anyway, if I were in the same situation, I might have hung up also. There wouldn't have been a way for you to have known your grandmother had suffered a stroke just by heavy breathing on the phone. It's not your fault. I wish her a good prognosis.
