Today, my sister told me that she read that the pain of giving birth is equal to the pain of breaking 20 bones at once. I'm 19 weeks pregnant. FML

Well, there's no turning back now.

Just take the drugs when they offer them, the epidural may hurt at first but it's so worth it

21, I sure as hell hope you're joking. Why the **** would someone have an abortion just so that they don't have to go through the pregnancy pain?

Its really not. I'm 19 and have had two babies. Natural both times. I was fine. You're body is built for it.

Women have a higher pain threshold to deal with that. Also, my aunt has had three children and also had kidney stones, and freely says that having kids is a breeze compared to passing kidney stones. In fact, kidney stones and gall bladder disease are both commonly regarded as being far more painful than childbirth; gall bladder disease is said to cause the worst pain known to humankind. So just remind yourself that it could be worse, and you're built to withstand it.

I had gallstones, kidney stones and a baby (not all at the same time) and I can say that while gallstones and kidney stones are very very painful, childbirth WAS by far way more painful. the only difference was that the pain with childbirth was worth it.

Congrats on the child, and I'm sorry bout the pain. If there's anything I can do just text or call me (Justin) at 36176@2@57

She's just being a sister...but IMO a bone breaking is way less painful than childbirth, unless it's broken by slowly bending till it snaps (geez, that sounds like serious torture :/). If it's a quick, clean break you'll hardly remember pain (well, that's how it was for me when I shattered my right knee and ankle). But childbirth is more about endurance and knowing that the pain will slowly build and then peak for a brief time, and then it's over. If you can't handle it, epidurals are pretty effective.

I had a natural 5 months ago and broke my arm 2 years ago and if I remember correctly my arm breaking hurt a whole hell lot more then child birth lol

If you can't spell, I'm pretty sure you didn't give birth. Are you 10?

OP here. First, all I said was my sister read it. We were talking about pregnancy and she simply stated that she READ it, not that she's speaking from experience. It's not like she made it up herself, and yes I'm sure "20 bones" is a bit of an exaggeration from whoever said that's what it felt like, or maybe that's what it felt like them. My sister's a great person and was only telling what to be ready for. Second, abortion? Screw any of you that suggest it. Where the hell did I say I wasn't happy being pregnant and didn't want it? I don't see it, because I didn't say it. I posted this because yeah, I'm a nervous wreck about giving birth but I know it will be worth it in the end. Some of you are ridiculous.

People are idiots. One of the worst parts of giving birth is the tearing. You won't feel it much with an epidural but once that wears off you have to heal and that's a bitch. if you do a natural home birth you can get in any comfortable position that you want to deliver, and that will minimize tearing substantially. Laying on your back in a hospital bed is one of the worst positions to give birth in so you tear a lot more. Just something for you to consider. Good luck :)

I seriously doubt anyone who joked about abortion was serious. You need to chill out overall; the more scared and tense you are, the more childbirth will hurt. If your reaction to the comments on here are any indication, the stick up your ass is going to make delivery pretty tricky. And I'm sure your sister is just lovely, but she's either trying to get under your skin for giggles or is really dumb to say something so insensitive.

If she isn't mad at her sister than how is her sister stupid and insensitive? I would understand if she kept trying to scare OP, but from OP's comment she isn't. I would get annoyed too with people if they were joking or not about me killing my baby (abortion). How is that funny? Um...it's not! You're the one who seems like you have a stick up your ass.

Are you stupid? Just because she is not mad doesn't mean her sister is insensitive. For an old lady(in your picture)Youćre pretty dumb.

Crowning is the worst part. Hopefully you don't have a big baby cause then you're more likely to tear. *shudders* get an epidural
