Today, my son’s kindergarten teacher asked her students to describe their dad with a word or an expression. In the midst of “kind” dads, “hug” dads and “kiss” dads, I'm the “whisky dad”. FML

Kids have no filters, they tell it like it is.

His kid could've meant whisker dad like a mustache. Who knows?

This should be your wake up call OP. If your kid has that for an impression on your husband I think this is a major eye opener

Wtf is wrong with all the people here thinking that he must have a drinking problem because he enjoys whisky? There are people out there who don't just drink alcohol to get totally wasted. Maybe the people who assume this should reconsider their life.

Because even if you don't drink so much as to get "wasted," if you have the compulsion to drink everyday or most days, it falls under an alcohol abuse problem. In act, saying that someone not getting drunk means they don't have a problem is blatantly wrong because one of the earliest symptoms of alcohol abuse is increased tolerance.

sounds like you should sit down and have a drink to coup with this shocking revaluation

I gotta say, you sound like the coolest dad in kindergarden.

For everyone jumping on the OP, I once told my grandmother that all my mom drank was "booze" when I was six. What my mom actually does is have a screwdriver with dinner when she's had a stressful day at work, or perhaps a nightcap if she's in pain from her early-onset arthritis. As a child I was apparently under the impression that my parents drank too much, despite them never having been drunk in front of me. The kid's impression is not necessarily OP's fault.
