Today, my son was fired from his new job, which was going to support us since I recently lost mine. His excuse was, "Conflict of interest." He was a mascot for a fast-food restaurant and refused to dance around. FML

You were going to support your family off of your son's job?

It's terrible having to ask a child to get a job to support his parents. It's worse still asking him to do something humiliating like that. Try to have some understanding, and next time have him get a better job. Like a stripper.

Maybe he wanted to keep his dignity...

Everybody should check out my YouTube channel "shireman1997", the best video is called, kid jumps out of pool".....it assure it will be funny

I hear there's a job opening at a fast food place as a mascot, maybe you can apply for the position.

Exactly! If things are so hard why doesn't OP do that.

stop living off your son and find yourself a job

I really doubt the parent wants to live off their kid's salary and isn't currently out looking for a job.

Good job being a moron. Moron. I hope the father finds new work soon. I was recently fired myself and am in the process of looking for work. Like me the father was likely fired for a stupid reason. In my case: Cash shortages even though I never handled cash beyond taking it from customers and putting it in the register. Then being blamed for it without the manager having sufficient evidence. (I wasn't the culprit, as I wasn't going to lose a job over extra money in my pocket, legal or not.)

Stop complaining about your son getting fired. Especially because you don't have a job either.

<Implying that the father wasn't working on that in the first place.

Well if he didnt want to jump around then i dont think being a fast food restaurant mascot is an ideal job for him....

Well if I were you I'd get a job. Yes I believe a son should want help his family but it's not the child's job to support a family financially, its's the parents. Sorry, but it's 100% true. You shouldn't rely on the person you're raising to do that. I understand if you're looking very hard but still, it's not his job, sorry. Kids will be kids, as it should be.

I upvoted you because you're 100% and actually get it. Too bad though that the son ****** up and potentially screwed his family. That's the only part you missed.

True but he got fired, didn't quit. So he could have done worse. I've had a job since I was 15 so I think its pretty shitty of him, but a real FML would be that she has no way to support them, not that her son couldn't.

Why should the kids help the family? Theyre just kids! They need to worry about finishing school, not about paying the bills and putting food on the table.

You guys are not seeing the big picture here. The son was probably making the only source of income for the family and he quit. i dont think the OP likes the fact that she was gonna live off of her son but it had to be done until she found a new job.

She could find a new job easily. I hear there is a opening for a mascot at a local fast food restaurant.

In what universe will a fast food restaurant mascot salary support two people?

Well if you on welfare, where else you gonna get your money for your meds? Gotta pimp them kids to keep your habit up. LOL. It's all very sad.

I'm pretty sure that wouldn't pay for both of your bills anyway.. Go get a job to support your family. You're the parent.
