Today, my tire blew while I was on the freeway. I had to change the tire in pouring rain while wearing short shorts and flip-flops. No one stopped to help, but several people politely honked as if to remind me of my misfortune. FML

Question is, would you have gotten off for someone else in the same situation. The sad thing is, mostly everyone would say no, including myself, which I feel so bad saying, but it's the truth. Hopefully I can change myself, because it all starts with me, and then it starts with you.

I would stop if I knew how to help. But honestly, if you don't know what your doing and you stop your just getting in everyone's way.

Actually, you never know too little when someone is in need. Any help would help. What if the person is hurt? I'm not just talking about OP. many people are on the side of the road everyday. What if they had a heart attack from the incident.

Actually, I take that back, mostly everyone would say yes, but they would be lying...

If you were going home its not that bad. Atleast you get to take a shower and change..

You have an amazing attitude. I think that's a really sweet thing to say.

I'm the OP. I had to make an account to comment. I would and have stopped to help people in these situations. I was wearing short shorts and flip flops because I was going to the climbing gym. Climbing shoes are not a good idea to be driving with. I was mainly only frustrated with people because I'm 5' tall and only about 100lbs and was having difficulty, not because I don't know how to change a tire I obviously got the task done. I also had my Son and there's nothing more nerve wrecking then being stranded in a dangerous place with your child. It also rarely rains here. So when it does a lot of car accidents happen.

And that's what I'm saying,.. You never know what the situation is. And even if you don't know much about changing a tire, it would help better than the mechanic driving by to his next appointment to make money. Thing is, most people don't stop because they think they won't be any help, well their help would've been more than none, and would've been appreciated.

Omg anyone who's judging what you wore is an idiot. You shouldn't have to explain why you were wearing NORMAL clothes! It sounds like that was a very stressful situation and I'm glad you got through it okay. And people honking would be adding insult to injury. Plus, a girl who can change a tire in the rain with flip flops and shorts on and a child to watch? You. Are. A. Rock star.

Dear I'm just glad that you actually know how to change a tire. I'm 18, female, and well on my way to becoming a mechanic. Its alarming to know how many women my mother's age that don't even know how to use booster cables, let alone change a tire. Congratulations, wonder woman is right.

So you decide booty shorts, and flip flops during storms? And driving through it. Look at the weather app. You have a phone/computer to do so.

I kind of understand why no one stopped. You here about people stopping to help someone all the time and getting robbed.

Nothing hotter than a cute chick in flip flops.

I know dat's right! I think you've found the reason no one stopped. Short shorts? Check. Slowing down. Flip flops? Check. Slow Down more. Cute chick? Wah-Wah-Wah, step on it!

I see many comments saying "shouldn't have worn short shorts" what do they have to do with anything? That's like me telling some dude "man.. Don't wear pants, it makes your tires blow in the rain.."
