I think it depends on what kind of 'personal use' is meant here. I mean, if it was one paper or whatever, yeah that sucks. If it was like a novel, and someone else got yelled at for wasting the papers then I don't think you really have a right to complain here...

ok, unless you got seriously brutalized for doing it, your life doesn't suck. He's apparently really uncomfortable being an accomplice in "crime" (regardless of the severity). I like this guy, most people only ever follow rules until they disagree with them, it suits them to break them, and/or they think they can get away with ignoring them. If everyone was like this guy, society would the way it's supposed to.
