Today, my wife announced that she wanted a divorce. She'd actually started dating another man a few months ago, but she wanted to drag our marriage out as long as possible just in case her new relationship fell through. FML

Child support pays for the kid's expenses and really has nothing to do with whether the mother cheated or not so long as they are his

26: And that's what's wrong with our legal system. A man cheats and loses his wife and kids, and has to pay her child support/alimony(which I agree with). The shank cheats and leaves and the still has to, which is wrong. I'm not saying he shouldn't help his kids, but let him do it when he has them. We all know the ex wife just pockets the "child support" anyways.

In cases of infidelity it is very possible that OP, as the father, could get custody of the kids. Cheating is taken seriously by divorce courts. The fact that she started another relarionship while married makes her look irresponsible and could be used to declare her an unfit mother. Good luck OP

I think if she were to get the kid/kids...his child support should be, anything the kid needs, he gets it himself, and gives it to the child.. because these triff women pocket the money, and the kids don't see a dime...I know, I see this everyday...
