sadly, don't keep your child from getting sick. unless it's super serious, getting sick is GOOD for her in the long run. she needs to build her immune system right now, and the more colds and junk she is exposed to the better. i would vote the parent w/ the strep take care of her, since it's slightly less serious, and thus the flu-ridden parent should be in bed. also, both of you make sure you wash your hands all the time, dont touch your face etc.
Oh poor things!! I have no idea what strep is, but of it's on par with the flue, I hope your little one is able to stay healthy!
It's a bacterial infection in the throat. It hurts pretty bad. I still have my tonsils so I don't know what it's like for people who've had them removed, but it'll make your tonsils swell up and hurt like hell. And you get these white spots all over your tonsils. Antibiotics clear it up pretty nice, but the last time I had it (I've had it several times over the years. Yay for still having my tonsils.) I just gargled with salt water and took anti-inflammatories and still managed to get rid of it after a couple days
I'd be more worried about the kid getting strep than the flu. Flu you feel like crap. Strep you feel like someone took a belt sander full of chainsaw teeth to your throat. Also I believe strep is more dangerous for children to get, though I'm not 100% sure on that.
The flu is actually more dangerous. It can cause complications in weaker immune systems that can be fatal in children, the elderly and anyone with a compromised immune system.
Sounds like one of those days where you need a grandparent to keep them so y'all can rest!! I hope you both get better soon! One of the roughest things is to be sick and have a child to keep up with!!
I made an account just so I can comment on this...if u have been on antibiotics for 24 hours you are no longer contagious.....

This sounds like a job for Team Grandparents!
Well my recommendation would be just try get one of your parents to take care of your child or something because you don't really want your kid to get either of those!
