Okay. Wow I can't believe this got posted! So anyway, I do this at home. Like before I go to bed I HAVE to make sure the two doors that lead outside are locked and that every cabinet door in the house is closed. And I probably do have OCD, As I have anxiety and Severe depression to boot as well. For those wondering: I didn't get up and close it for a few reasons. 1.) I didn't want to interrupt him. 2.) I figured he would find it rude and stupid to just get up and close a door that probably only bothered me. And 3.) I have anxiety, so getting up or even speaking in a class full of students is damn near impossible. Also, all of his lectures are also on Momentum (Which is basically how we email our teachers and get all the material we need for the class like the syllabus and shit) so I've already looked over what he taught for today. And to the person who said "i would not do anything, because im not compulsive about minor things like that." That's fantastic. Why don't you give yourself a pat on the back? I live with and am stuck around people who see that as "minor" and don't do anything about it. I know what a "normal" person looks like. I can't help it. I know it's minor, and i know that i shouldn't worry about it or be bothered by it. But I literally can't help it. So forgive me for being different. Thanks to the person who made the "Close" joke. OR if you were even making a joke. Regardless, i found it relatively funny and it made me giggle.

I get bothered when the teacher misses a spot when erasing the board.
Should've just got up and closed it
Maybe invest in blinders? Ha different! Losers..

You're on a role with these approved FML's. Your life must REALLY suck lol.
What? @35
I've got OCD tendencies as well and my husband always (in jest) gives me a hard time for it. But I don't think anyone who doesn't experience these tendencies realize that we DON'T want them and we would stop if we could.
I was really confused when you said all your teachers assignments and notes were on Momentum. I thought you many the scientific concept of momentum. Then I realized it must be a teacher student sharing thing (best I can describe it). My University uses something similar, except we call it Springboard.
An old college I was in had Blackboard, and my most recent one was Desire 2 Learn.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have severe OCD and I used to suffer from anxiety, BAD. I was fortunately able to overcome it and went from an introvert to a well-adjusted extrovert. Wish you the best of luck!
Oh dear god, me too. I can handle odd numbers for sports. Other than that, tv and radio volume HAS to be on an even number. My wife likes to mess with me and I have to constantly check.
It doesn't. We use it at my school and it is horrible.
This is unimportant, but what the **** kind of name for an educational platform is Desire 2 Learn?
your husband sounds like a douche
Wrong FML, 63?
I think 63 was replying to 40
You're lucky you don't have a pet cat who spends his time opening cabinets and drawers like mine does! If it bothered me I'd probably have gone totally crazy by now.
I would do the same thing!
I wish they had options other than "I agree, your life sucks" and "you deserve it". Possibly " Shut the **** up, if this is what you have to complain about, THEN YOUR LIFE IS FINE".
You do realize FML isn't supposed to hold only the worst stories ever, right? There's literally FMLs about not getting laid. This FML completely has a place here, if you couldn't tell considering it went through MODERATION. There's true terrible stories as well as lighthearted ones, though this id say is totally your life sucks. You obviously have no idea how bad OCD or the tendencies can be.
OCD is a real problem and can get so bad that it interferes with your life. It's not voluntary, for ****'s sake. Nobody WANTS to care about whether or not cupboards are closed, or if the volume is on an even number. Gain some damn empathy.
Moderated for saying "your life is fine, stop complaining" ... Really?
The moment OCD kicks in
I feel your pain :)
Ocd much

That would bug me so much!
OCD much? I get the same compulsion too.
