why you have problem with broken electric fence? horses even dont like to step ower wier that has power in it
He Jurassic Parked yo ass.
You should see if he finds it hilarious when you beat the shit out of him.
You may have deserved it. Even if the fence was off, you shouldn't have grabbed it first, but touched it with the back of your hand to test it (your reaction to being shocked while grabbing something is to hold on to it). Better safe than sorry.
The power in an electric farm fence isn't constant. It's intermittent. It's only electric for a fraction of a second about every second and a half. Not enough to make you grab, and more than enough time to pull your hand away.
I have only one piece of advice for you: Don't whizz on the electric fence.
Shocker, right?
Shut up peta. Would it be better if whatever he has run away from him? Hmm?
Oh so it would be better to have a barbed wire fence that they can touch if they want and thus don't fear? That way they can run into it and get caught in it. If an animal gets tangled in barbed wire, chances are high that the animal will have to be put down. With an electric fence, the animal usually only has to touch it once and they will respect it forever. In 15 years on our farm, with electric fencing, we have had three horses get caught in the fence. One of those was in a portion of the fence that was not electrified. Only one had to be put down. We still have the other two. Or would it be better to come home one day and find your dead horse laying beside the highway because it didn't respect the fence?
It's not cruel. We have an electric fence for our horses and it doesn't hurt them that badly. It's more of a surprise than anything, and they only touch it once and then never again, so it's not like they're getting shocked constantly. Besides, horses are obviously way bigger than humans. It doesn't hurt them as badly. If it was cruel, equine vets would tell people not to use it. Trust me, it's fine. And I for one would rather my horse get shocked a few times than get out of his pasture, onto the road, and hit by a bus (which happened to one of my friend's who, ironically, didn't have an electric fence).
I knew we'd have some treehugging animal lover comment on this one. Let's just let all the horsies run free and wild like they're supposed to! /sarcasm/ Like others said, all they have to do is touch it once. My show horse who had never seen it before touched his nose to it once and hasn't touched it since. Our other show horse that we sold to my friend ran straight through plain wire fences like they're not even there. It's not cruel and you're an idiot for thinking it is.
If you actually KNEW something about raising horses, you wouldn't be spouting out that ignorant, convoluted blather. It's a standard and NECESSARY piece of equipment for all farms and anyone that owns a horse. They're safe and humane when used properly, and how dare you suggest otherwise when it's a job that you know nothing about. Try finding out about something before you start judging.

Your brother is shocking.
I hope you didn't burn off the skin from your hands. If you did, take advantage of not having finger- prints.
