Today, someone had put a lock on my bike. While I was trying to saw it off, the police drove by. I was arrested for trying to steal a bike and released four hours later when they figured out that it was actually my bike. FML

Keep your bike inside if allowed, it's better to drag it in and out of your home versus having to deal with people stealing it and or replacing them.

Dunno why I thought the police in Belgium is smarter than in other countries. :/

im one of those guys who would put a lock on someone elses bike, but id stick around for the good laugh. FTP btw fck that puto? where did that come from.. i know you mean fck the police but whatever

Meh. At least you got your bike back. Sawing that off looks suspicious, so YDI. That's what police are for. You could've probably gotten your bike back even sooner with professional help, although FYL for having to deal with it at all.

I work in the legal field, for a criminal attorney at that and i see this all the time. It's so sad that nowadays police officers are taught to "arrest now and ask questions later". We once had a client who was pulled over, her car was searched and was taken to jail for "crack" found in her car. She was released a WEEK later when the drug test results found it to be old, stale CUPCAKE ICING that had been left in her car from the cupcakes for her kids birthday party a few weeks prior.

Someone wanted to steal it but was too lazy, so they locked it up to make sure it would be there later.
