I remember when the alarm would go off in my dorm. It's so loud and obnoxious. I can understand why you would be frustrated. Oh, and those of you who think that you can just take the batteries out- it's not a smoke detector or store-bought fire alarm. It's one of the ones that are installed in the apartment complex for all the residents. They are seriously loud, and you can't think, let alone relax and want to stay in.

That would mean that there is a PROBLEM, is a fire fighter I would say call your local fire department....duh

Crash with a friend? That's a valid excuse

Change the batteries in your smoke detector.

The flashing lights are for after the sound causes you to go deaf, so that you still know there's a fire

On the bright side, hunky firemen should be coming!

Here's a wild idea: leave your apartment for the day? Or don't use common sense. Whatever you're feeling.

Flashing red light? They outlawed installations of those in the nineties at the latest. Be grateful you don't have the modern bright clear strobes.
