Today, the kids I teach informed me that I had spelled my name incorrectly on the board. I looked at it and assured them that I had spelled it correctly. I'm 22 and a graduate student, they're six and mentally challenged. Guess who was right? FML

Today, my 10-year-old niece asked me how to spell "embarrassing." I confidently spelled it out. She giggled and said, "No, that's wrong." She was right, and to make matters a tad ironic, I'd just finished bragging about winning a spelling bee back in middle school. FML

Today, I got back the essay I wrote about how my country's education system is fucked. At one point, I made a spelling mistake. My teacher wrote a note about it, basically calling me illiterate, and telling me to pay attention in school instead of whining about it. She misspelled "school". FML

Who's right? I know someone who was more wrong than anyone...... The person who gave you the room number of the kid geniuses that you encountered when you were told you would be teaching the mentally challenged kids in the room 5 doors down the hall instead! No shame in being corrected by kid geniuses. Children can be so cruel!!!

I think the bigger issue here rather than "ooh I'm a graduate student and they're mentally challenged, boo hoo" should be you can't even spell your own name correctly, and will even look at it spelled wrong and argue that it's right...
