Today, the vet sent me an email wishing my kitten a happy 2nd birthday. My cat died last year. FML

Those things are automated, don't take it personally.

I now declare the cat puns to be unleashed! This will be a catastrophe.

Remember not to become angry when a loved one (say your mother) dies (God forbid, I hope not :/) and someone says "It was just your mom." Hey, we're strangers and didnt know your mom so it has the same meaning, does it not? You're implying that just because it wasn't something you loved whether it be human or animal it doesn't matter? Its not just a cat, it belonged to a family, it was loved. ^_^

Maybe it does suck, but did you let the vet know? I'm not sure if I would have thought to let our vet know if one of our pets passed on. Sorry you had a reminder, but one thing about most pets is you will out live them. Memories is what we have left. Be grateful you got to know them and love them in your time here.

I work at a clinic and it happens sadly. We had a poor 9 month old kitten die because it ate a lily flower and we did as much as we could and the poor thing wasn't getting better

sorry #2 not the right time... it's only ok when a cat does something cute/funny/evil. not when they die

I received a card in the mail the other day from my vet for my cat to get her yearly exam. She had been euthanized because of cancer the year previously. Now, with this in mind, I received the notice accidentally and when I advised my vet the receptionist was horrified. Mistakes in closing records do happen and I'm sure it was not intentional in the least.

your cat still has a birthday after death
