No joke, all solar eclipse glasses were sold out. Even all the welding goggles were sold out at the hardware stores.

LOOKING AT THE SUN FOR FIVE SECONDS WON'T MAKE YOU GO BLIND. Ultraviolet light is the biggest threat; you can block that by watching through a car windshield. You can also poke a pinhole through a piece of thick cardboard and look through that. If you feel fancy, look for directions on how to make a Camera Obscura.
Ya well it was raining were im from so we couldnt see it at all
seems like it should be a pretty easy decision. if you choose to go blind then you're an idiot.
Use a pinhole projecter instead
At least you had the choice to see it in your town. My FML would be "this was the first annular eclipse since 1994 and the viewing area stopped right before my town." There are many other ways to safely observe the eclipse so, as many others have said so far, YDI.
I couldn't even see it! Forest fires around my town clouded up our sky.. damn :P
You're life is so hard OP! No solar eclipse?! Whatever will you do?! My half of the world didn't get to see it either, my life is over!
Annular?
It looked so cool! I hope you got to see it
Sounds like a pretty simple dilemma if you ask me
