dedeedeee tells us more.
Hi everyone, person who wrote the FML here. There seems to be some sort of confusion going on around here, I didn't laugh because my stepmother said that my grandmother was in a better place, It was just the wrong thing to burst out laughing to...not that the funeral helped at all. And thanks to those who made nice comments and stupid ones. It made my day a little bit better 8D

how could you be such a sick individual as to laugh at your grandmothers funeral? ydi
ahah i completely undertsanddd it is funny f. u all who say its YDI!
i cant help but laugh like an idiot when something tragic happens in my life.. i dont know how else to process my emotions.
I dont think its ****** up to laugh during a period of mourning, I think its ****** up to laugh at your father, whom despite suffering a devastating loss, is trying to sing his heart out while trying to hold back the tears. He wouldnt be singing if he didnt think he was good, so why would you laugh, even if he wasnt?? You should be supporting your father instead of causing a scene and making him feel worse than he already does. YDI for being an insensitive BITCH.
Wow, I attended my great uncle's funeral and my other great uncle went up to make a speech -- and sing. So it's totally like this. He starts with an incomprehensible speech - at one point he was like "me and Jason were like brother and sis - 2 brothers." Then the singing... I can't even hold it in, I have to smile during the singing. I'm just trying to tune it out, but yeah, I cracked up. Not burst out laughing, but it was bad. #105, quit trying to be such a ****** saint. I'm glad you're in touch with your moral emotions, but to the rest of us humans it might look like bad American Idol.
It is quite interesting how humans handle grief. Clearly many of the people here have never felt that type of loss, otherwise they would be more understanding as to why you reacted the way you did. Laughing in such a situation, while seemingly inappropriate and cold-hearted, is actually quite a natural reaction.
I have, i lost my mother in April and i neither cryed or laughed, i done nothing. People can greive in alot of different ways

When I get nervous, I sometimes get uncontrollable laughter for seemingly mundane stuff too.
I'd like to think that she was watching from beyond and laughing right along with you. : )
