Today, we watched a movie in class. Afterwards, the professor asked us what we thought. I raised my hand and said it was pretentious, dull and a really poor example of filmmaking. It was the movie HE spent five years writing and directing. FML

Hey, you spoke the truth. People can't be babied all their lives anyways.

Exactly. If the professor is opening the movie to critique, he better suck it up and deal with it.

Dude I'm in film school and teachers do this ALL the time they want open criticism for there work as long as you gave a well constructed criticism as oppose to just bashing than you did nothing wrong

Hey, you were just being honest. Hopefully he doesn't fault you for it...

take a real class....where you don't watch movies in it...

He can go **** himself if he takes it personal. It might turn out that this was an exercise in showing you all that you have to be able to take criticism and he was hoping someone would be honest. You might have done him a favor in his teaching. Then again, maybe he's just a pretentious twit. Look on the bright side. He spent years making a shitty movie to embarrass himself with for the rest of his teaching career. You spent a single class forming an opinion that will keep you from mistaking him as an authority on good film-making. You came out ahead.

if his movie sucks its better he know it. You did a good thing. Of course, you might have worded it better and given more constructive criticism if you knew, but we all make mistakes

I really hate self-righteous classmates. You raise stink for no reason whatsoever.
