Today, while changing a light bulb, I was electrocuted. I screamed before I blacked out. My entire family was home and heard me scream, but didn't come and check because they were too busy watching Glee. FML

Today, I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling with the lights off. It was 1AM and I'd just finished watching a scary movie so I was a little paranoid. I was about to fall asleep when an eerie light lit the room. I jumped, got tangled in the sheets, and hit my head against the bed frame. Where'd the light come from? Not a space ship. Not someone breaking in. It was my phone. FML

Come on no one thinks of the Big Bang Theory! The one show this is accepted for ignoring people!

Well obviously you should have been watching Glee and this wouldn't have happened.

If you were electrocuted you'd be dead. You were shocked. FYL anyway though, Glee is a load of crap.

It's true, but electrocuted sounds cooler.

Since when does using the wrong word sound cool?

If you don't know how to change the lightbulb safely, don't do it. Not sure if you can do something about your family though.

2 you need to get your ass kicked for such a comment

The only show that should ever be an excuse to watch over anything else is The Big Bang Theory!!! Freaken amazing show

I change light bulbs all the time without turning off the switch and never had problems. The light must have had a loose wire. But I think the point is, the OP screamed and no one came to help.

sourgirl101, that you had no accidents so far is fortunate, but it does not mean it is OK or safe. That is like saying "I run and jump between tall buildings and nothing happened to me so far". Messing with electricity while it is on is plain stupid, and you shouldn't be doing it. While rare, you also run the risk of the lightbulb exploding right there in your face- yes, it can happen. OP does deserve it for not making sure it was off, but also FHL for having a crappy family.
