Today, while I was going to the bathroom, my engagement ring fell off into the toilet, which then automatically flushed. FML

Go on eBay or something and find one that looks exactly like it, except cheaper, so your fiancé won't get mad.

Please, let nobody write "well that's a shitty situation"

A symbol of your relationship.... Right down the toilet.

Hah! Now you won't get married and your life won't go down the toilet.

Hey I dont know if you know this but people flush things down the toilet and you should go to the waste treatment plant in your area because they save everything that's filters out

If your fiancé was smart and assuming the ring wasn't a cheap piece of crap it should be insured. Bingo problem solved! That's one way to find out how much he spent on our ring hahaha FYL!

Actually it's not. My husband got a really good deal on my ring and the appraised value is more than double what he paid for it. And the appraised value is how much the insurance companies cover the ring for not the original purchase price. That way as the cost of gold and diamonds rise with inflation the cost to replace the ring is always covered. As long as you periodically get your ring reappraised to keep it up to date.

Things like this happen. I know that does not make you feel any better, but they do. If your to the point of engagement this can't be the first time you have given an indication to your boyfriend you are kind of spacey(I say this in love I am the same way) so hopefully he will be understanding. If it was expensive hopefully he had the foresight to insure it. But I the other poster had a good idea they do filter stuff at the water treatment plant. You may get lucky.
