Today, while I was working as a waitress, I had to wait on a table of 13 people. I was struggling through it and when they finally left I went by the table to pick up my tip. Instead of a money I got a napkin saying "Here's your tip, don't be a waitress." FML

Your restaurant doesn't add gratuity for parties of 8 or more? Most do, and this is why.

If you have ever worked in the restaurant industry, you'd realize this is a FML. No one deserves to get stiffed on a tip, especially for a party of 13. But like #3, why wasn't there gratuity added in?

YDI Haven't you heard of gratuity? We add it to big tables. Also, a table of 13 isn't so bad unless they continuously ask you for things. Example one person ask you for a napkins and when they return ask you for something else. If that wasn't the case you totally deserved it.

I dont think anyone has realized but this might of been her first big table and as i recall my first big table was hard because there is so much that can and will go wrong. she might of had alot of other tables also to add more stress on her and when you are stressed out as a waitor/waitress you mess up ALOT! its people that say you only deserve a tip if you actually do good even though you have a big table that you add on graduality tip (18% for 8+ people) that should be a waitor/waitress for a day and see it can be hard so **** all of you people that dont know the struggle we people in the service buisness because of all of oyu stuck up retard that treat us all like shit. just go die in a ******* hole! And OP im sry hopefully you do better next time

Actually I have been a server for about 2 years now, and it's is extremely easy, and my first big table, which was a 20 top, wasn't that difficult. I was just a little slower at it my first couple of times...

Because what applies to you as a server applies to every other server. It depends on the guests at the table, too, keep that in mind before you judge how "easy" this table should've been for her.

why did people asume that she was bad? maybe her table was really rowdy? or maybe the people at the table were drunk? either way she deserves some sort of a tip. it doesnt have to be a big one. and it was rude of THEM to write that note.
