Today, while my mom was out, my family agreed upon the assumption that she has a "shopping problem." I argued against it for quite a while, until she pulled up minutes later with a what seemed like a life-time supply of canned condensed milk. FML

It really depends. If it's stuff she's going to use and got a kickass price on, then she might simply be a smart shopper. Prices aren't apt to go down, after all. What you buy several of cheap today is saving you money tomorrow. If by "lifetime supply" you mean dozens and dozens of cans she can't possibly use before they go too stale to use and she'll have to throw them out, then she's just wasting money, it's compulsive behavior and the rest of the family's right.
