Today, while standing in line at the video store, I happen to notice a very hot young girl on the TV screen, and mentioned to my friend that I'd "hit that." I was immediately punched by the girl in front of me. Seems the hot girl on TV was her on a security monitor. FML

Creepy and an idiot. A winning combination.

I guess she'd hit you right back. I figure though that anyone who thinks OP deserves it condones physical abuse as a justifiable response to an admittedly somewhat inappropriate comment. If the genders were reversed and a guy hit a girl OP for making a similar comment, would the OP still deserve it? I smell a double standard here.

Well, OP, saying "hit that" is usually disrespectful to women. In my opinion, she had every right to be very offended, but punching you in the face was a little overboard.

she wanted to show him that she wanted to "hit that" too ;)

Well hullo he didn't know she was going to be standing right in front him. If I saw a hot guy on TV Id say the same thing. Obviously if he had known she was right there he wouldn't have said it. Anyhow I think it's not ops fault and she should have been more grateful.

I agree that she shouldn't have punched him, but why the **** should she be grateful that some random idiot would **** her?

What makes you think the OP is some "random idiot"? His comment wasn't classy, certainly, but I think you are reading too much into it.

RedPillSucks 31

He's an idiot because 1. he couldn't tell that he was looking at a security monitor. 2. his idea of complementing someone is talking about how he would "hit" that. (argh!!! the comment I was replying to is gone)

Am I missing something?! Where the hell does it say he was punched in the face?! Quit making up your own shit!

1 Yeah I call bs on that part. 2 When did everyone become SUCH PRUDES... men and WOMEN talk like this ALL the time when talking to friends and coworkers.

It's all hypathetical and in todays society it is a compliment not always good but the sad truth

"random idiot"-he was random. he was an idiot. otherwise he may have noticed it was a security camera and TACTfully buttoned his lip ? maybe she got freaked out that he was thinking about her in that manner. Seeing how she didn't know him or anything and he was exclaiming about sex with her. it's in her right, idiot was out of line, she handled how she wanted.

seems as if she was thinking the same thing!

You should have said I'd **** that. Then instead of her hitting you... She'd **** you! :D

Atta boy you go hound dog haha but seriously you couldve whispered it bro haha

Looks like she did a pre-emptive "hit that." That's part of the Bush Doctrine, y'know.

I thought all the video stores were closed....

Whilst what you said was inappropriate, her response was totally disproportionate. But c'est la vie, unless you want to blow it further out of proportion. Why is it that girls are allowed to get away with hitting guys for something like this?

VasilisaUzhasnaj 29

Because society has allowed women to believe they can be total ***** and get away with it. Then again, if men didn't love punching women around so much, and treating them like sexual objects, the standard wouldn't be quite as uneven. ...but then AGAIN, if women didn't ALLOW themselves to be so ******* weak and emotional, and not let men get away with treating them in ways they hate...you know what. Everyone sucks. I think each gender intentionally allows the other to treat them like shit just to get them back with something equally bad. To make it absolutely acceptable to act that way, thus creating such standards. I think I've just stumbled upon an epiphany of grand proportions..(rushes to the writing desk)

Whilst my question was rhetorical, I like that answer. Though I do object to the generalisation, but I'm working with the assumption you didn't mean to imply that all men and all women behave that way. But it does seem that society seems to be allowing more and more dickheadish (I don't care if that's not a word) behaviour every day, and I just can't understand why. I mean, standing up for yourself is one thing, but it does seem to be going too far.

This is one complex conversation. You two should partner up and write a theory on society. Make lots of money and give me a share since I came up with the idea. I'll have my people call your people.

34: Women are responsible for almost as much domestic abuse as men are. It's not men hitting and shouting at women and kids, it's people hitting and shouting at their partners and kids. People are asshats, not just men.

24- Maybe she felt threatened by a stranger making sexual comments about her? Not saying what she did was right, but it's kind of understandable. 34- Your denunciation of double standards might be more convincing if you didn't call women weak, emotional *****.

Abouttofly - I can understand why she felt upset, maybe even threatened as you said, but as all he did was make a comment, it didn't have to come to physical violence. She could've just turned around and told him to back off (or use words of her choice to give the same message).

122 - Am I not female myself? I generally use harsh words when getting my point across. Naturally I don't actually believe all men and women are assholes and idiots. It's all of those who are that create these awful standards and situations. In the extreme, men are disgusting sex-addicted swine, and women are weak and emotional, and equally cruel. But in reality, most of both genders are alright people. Everyone just needs to take this 'equality' shit seriously. Some seem to think it means special privileges for women, who think that being born with a ****** means they should be treated like royalty or allowed to get away for acting however they want. We're all people, and we need to treat one another fairly and equally regardless of what's in our pants.

You didn't see yourself on the screen, too?

Should have said no way in hell I'd hit that. Would have gotten a different response from her.

VasilisaUzhasnaj 29

Yeah, then she'd have slammed his face right into a table of discount DVDs. ****** if you do, ****** if ya don't. Best to keep your trap shut.

Ahem... Freedom of speech. I'll defend your right to be an ass hat to my grave. No one ever has the right to put their hands on someone else. Unless it's self-defense.

So physical abuse is wrong but verbal abuse is fine?
