Good , be glad someone cares enough to protect you from the world.
It's worse to be sheltered from the world than to be prepared for it. If you're sheltered from the world, then you'll never be prepared for it and you'll likely fall flat on your face time and time again, having to learn everything on your own. If you're prepared, though, you'll at least be able to start with both feet on the ground instead of your face on the ground.
I grew up with a girl whose mother thought like you, 43. I always thought her life was kinda sad. She was always completely shocked at the totally benign and age-appropriate things my parents allowed, such as staying home by myself for a few hours as a young teen or driving myself somewhere after getting my license. Her mom monitored her Facebook and actually deleted several of her school friends because they weren't people that she (the mom) knew personally. And yes, her mom monitored what she could watch and read her text messages just like OP's mom. The end result? My friend is an adult who cannot function by herself. She is afraid of everything. Protecting a child from the bad out there is fine, but protecting them from life? That's one of the cruelest things you can do.
I'm almost 16 and my mom does pretty much the same thing.
I agree, your life sucks... aaand YDI for not trying to be more independent...
this can be true Although it isn't always the case.
Even though I'm a teenager and I don't have a job, my mother completely trusts me and pretty much lets me watch any movies I want, spend my money the way I want, and use my phone the way I want(as long as what I'm doing is legal). She has trusted me with a phone since I was 11. At one point(I was 13 when I went and 14 when I left), my dad took custody of me and let his GiRLFRIEND that we lived with put parental controls on my phone that pretty much stopped me from listening to half of my music, going on the Internet(even for schoolwork I wasn't allowed on using ANY device EVER), getting any app that was 12+ or above. Luckily, I'm back with my mom now. Some parents just suck. My dad is a jerk and it's ridiculous, but there was nothing I could do.
OP, how old are you? It sounds like your mother is treating you like you're 7 years old!
One day, just go up to her and tell her you're pregnant, or that you're going to be a father, and then see her reaction?
ur life is overprotected..
You're how old?

How old are you exactly?
Oh the joys of being four years old.
