Today, whilst on a date I recieved my sixth missed call from my mother. I excused myself and went outside and called her, she and my father wanted to know why I was having dinner and holding hands with another man. It turns out they were also on a date. At the same place. FML

Oops! Well you had to come out eventually, but FYL :- Also: not last! :-) (I'll be teed off if they close the topic though)

Your parents must not have been too upset - at least they didn't barge over to your table and demand to know what was up.

#11 I hope I don’t get that gay stigmata.

Wait are you having an affair...or are you gay?

Haha I think he's gay. I wasn't sure either until I read the comments/saw OP's gender... At first I thought the FML was that she was a girl, cheating on her boyfriend/husband and her parents saw her with someone else.

Hahah, awkwardddddd. They had to find out eventually. Even though I'm sure you had wished not like that.

If they can't figure it out on their own, there's got to be a pamphlet or something you could give them.

If only there was a pamphlet for coming out so to speak. I mean they have one but it really doesnt cover all situations. They also have one from PFlag about how to be a supportive parent but giving that to a unsupportive parent can just cause more problems. What do you think the title would be? "So your son takes it up the butt." sounds informative right?

Or: "Where The Hell Are My Grandkids?" Or maybe: "This is What You Get for Raising a Momma's Boy".

"At the same restaurant" is not a complete sentence, silly.

At this point im not sure if he would care wether or not he is using complete sentences. i remember when i can out it was hard to even breath i was so nervous. But than again i was 12 and i made sure i would be alone for the next like 24 hours.

Probably not, at the moment. However, his life isn't over. Eventually, he'll need proper grammar/composition abilities. :) I hope it went ok for you, though. I can't say I really know from experience, but I can imagine how hard it is.

Haha you are probably right. I just thought you were funny. I have always been bad at spelling and grammar mostly due to being deaf in 1st grade. But my father at least already knew. Turns out he went through my things and kept notes from when i was in 8th grade. Thats like 5 years ago now. i found out a few months ago.

Haha. That's kind of awkward. My mom doesn't do that, luckily. I told her I may be bi, due to the fact I am attracted to girls. She was like, "I kind of thought so," and didn't really make a big deal out of it. I'm lucky.

@fmTrevor You can't be gay when you're 12. It's called puberty buddy, and all kids have those urges. Twelve year olds don't know anything, especially not their sexuality. Heck, I thought I was in love at 12, which I now realize was just lust. You can't make life-changing decisions at 12, and you don't choose your sexuality until you're at least 14. Plus, homosexuality=bad.

You don't choose your sexuality at all. It's a trait that's a part of all of us. Like you and heterosexuality. It's not chosen, just recognized. A lot of people can know as early as 12. It's not a decision.

''she and my father wanted to know why I was having dinner and holding hands with another man.'' are they retarded?

you should be more honest with your parents!

Too many people are harping on these parents...look, it's natural for some parents to expect that their kid's going to be straight. You guys don't know if the conversation afterwards was "why didn't you tell us sooner" or "why did you think you needed to keep this from us" instead of "WHY THE **** AREN'T YOU STRAIGHT?!" I agree that being gay is natural for people, and I support gays. However, I don't see a problem with a little bit of a shock value finding out that someone was gay. My friend came out some time ago...I was shocked, but I accepted. His father was shocked, and was upset for a while. Now they're all fine. Ease up on the parents. Of course they're going to question it (at least at first). When they start trying to "convert" their kin, then you can badger :D Peace

Phlecks, you are right of course that Parents have the right to be shocked, as long as they do get over it. Even though a parent might be accepting of it, they never expect it. That's fine. Where I see a problem in OP's case is that they called him six times. The preferred method would be to wait until they were at home, or at least to call just once and leave a message.

I see where you're coming from. It's probably best to keep those matters in private if one has an issue, or just a question, about it. Glad we see eye to eye.

Gay is totally a choice, no one is born gay. If you claim that you were born gay then you agree what gay is a genetic defect.

Its not a defect but it is genetically induced. Mostly during the gestation period. Mother's bodys try and feminize all male children and it gets more successful each time a mother has a body. Also it has been proven in lab tests when u too many mice are born in a cage some are born gay so as to decrease the population.

DogFun 0

Please, don't give me this crap about "lab tests." Most people are gay because they have had troubled relationships with the opposite sex, and the rest do it to be cool.

HAHA i have no such troubles with the opposite sex quite the opposite. I get along with them vary well and can relate to them much better than other men. And what would u know about being gay. On your other note how is being gay cool? Is it cool to have people threaten to bring a gun to school to shoot you?

Gay people are born gay, You're thinking of faux bisexuals. THEY do it to be cool.

WPQ14 15

Well blonde hair and blue eyes are a genetic defect, too, it started as a mutation. Humans evolve to adapt to life as it should be. And since we're starting to overpopulate, we're having more and more homosexual or true bisexual people are born.

Have you heard the saying "all good men are either taken or gay?" I would think gay guys have an easier time connecting with the opposite sex since they have feminine qualities themselves. I'm not sure but that's just what I've seen.

Repguy27 0

No, its irrelevant. You deserve it for being gay plain and simple.

fmTrevor. You made a good point but you made a typo. This typo happened to make me giggle, and so I'm pointing it out. "each time a mother has a body" You meant boy. But I got a mental image of a ghost-like semi-solid kinda floatyish mother turning solid adn thereofre having a body. Thank you for the laugh, even though it was unintentional.

HAHA your right that is funny sorry i didnt realize that i typed that. i was still in a sick haze when i wrote that haha

boatkicker 4

That's alright. I've done similar things before. haha
