Were there no cameras in this restaurant?
I had almost the exact same thing happen to at my old job, and when I confronted her about it, she tried to deny it and asked to speak to my manager, and my district manager who also saw her do it, when up to her and the lady tried to make it out like it was my hair, when I'm a bruneete and the hair was blonde, and no one else I was working with had blonde hair, and she left all huffy. She never came back. Lol
people like her aren't worth the waste of your time. report her. if they believe you, GREAT! however, they may still have to comp something as even your supervisor can't prove it.
Good that we have DNA testing in this day and age.
what about the cameras she should have been on there red handed
Actually they WILL believe you, because this happens all the time.
I can't believe people say you deserve this. I once worked in fast food and a lady lost her phone and she accused me of stealing it because I happen to be sweeping the lobby. My manager went to watch the cameras and she set it down by the soda machine and some man took it. She didn't even apologize after watching the video herself
At that point you get your "manager" and have them deal with it.

Try to get a DNA test to prove it. your witnessing would be probable cause.
Let her waste her time filing a lawsuit. There are no damages for her to seek so it would be frivolous.
