this actually could have happened. after drinking 2 cups of ice tea i made with pure water and powder mix, i walked outisde my front door and found a red paper around my door handle saying that they were flushing the hydrants and the water won't be purified and it could contain bacteria, so don't use the water, unless boiled. :/ - FYL
You're from Bristol County! It was in the news and on the newspaper's front pages.
There are many strands of E. coli that are harmless to humans. For instance, my AP Bio class made some E. coli bioluminescent through genetic transformation. We didn't have to wear facial masks, and nobody got sick.
