Trust

Today, my boyfriend's parents decided that I was untrustworthy and that if they ever saw him with me he'd be heavily punished. They're travelling hundreds of miles just to make sure he stays in the house and doesn't talk to me. FML

Sounds like they don't trust him very much either. Always going to be some controlling parents out there but this is a new level

If he is over 20 they need to mind their own business

Um, no, if he is over 18 they can go **** themselves

The real meaning of strict parents create sneaky kids. As if controlling will make anything better, plus apart from that i'll just break the connection between parents and son. He should man up and stand for what's worth in his life and not just: hey whatsoever i'll let them decide how I want to live.

For the first time in my life someone needs a restraining order even if they are family.

Wow. What the hell did you even do to make them that pissed at you? They sound overprotective AF!

Reminds me of how some of my bf's family treated me when we first met. And hell, we weren't even dating yet, and that didn't stop his dad from accusing me of being a troublemaking ***** that would get him sent to jail in six months. At that point we were both adults and he didn't live with them either. It's been several years, we're still together and he doesn't seem to recall how shitty he treated us both. But your bf can just brush them off and get on with life without em.

what? you get him into crazy stuff or something?

it sounds like you need a new boyfriend if his parents are that against you unless the two of you are adults then f*** them because he should be able to make his own decisions on who he dates and if he won't stand up to them then get a new boyfriend there's plenty of fish in the sea

Tell him to get a restraining order. They are being abusive.
