So what exactly would your van life be if not living paycheck to paycheck but without an actual roof? Because from my perspective unless you’re planning on using remote access to work-from-van you’d still need to do chores in exchange for goods and services you need just like the rest of us, and gas doesn’t come cheap either.
One member of my family had the same problem. 1st (very long time) girlfriend left him and now he cannot keep a girl long term. Thing is : van life can be fine for holidays (max 15 days), but long term it is tiring. And the more compact the van, the bigger the problem. Bonus Tip: don’t think about long term van life as a couple if you snore.
I’ve been doing van life for over two years now, it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made! Definitely not only good for max 15 days, unless you’ve lived this lifestyle maybe don’t try to deter someone who wants an adventure
You're doing it with a partner? Are you both saving lots of money?
Let’s just agree on the fact that living in a very small space, in very close proximity and never in the same place (not trailer life but van life) is not for most people.
Didn't they do a study about "small living", kind of like "van life", as in...small living space to save costs, optimized as **** for space. I think they actually included vehicle living space...but I'm not sure. Anyhow, the result was that 80% of the people returned back to normal living spaces within a year, regardless of how much it cost then to "go small". It's an extremely expensive mistake for a lot of people, people that chase the dream of less costs. It's a good thing your wife opted out before you spend money, because she was gonna quit anyway.
Keep pressing the issue and she will file for separation. Next thing you know, you're thrice divorced and will live in a van down by the river. By yourself. Is it really worth it?
The late Chris Farley would approve of this PSA.
My wife loves that skit, but we all joke about the “I may not “wipe properly” or “own a toothbrush”” part because we know a horrendous slob and it’s become a running joke when referring to his hygiene and life choices (we don’t say it to his face, but it’s a family member we really don’t like)
