Google the Trevor Project OP. They have a forum and networking site that deals with depressed teens.
Boatkicker's post reminds me of my own experience. =P I was required by the rules of the college that I'm currently at to take basic composition classes, which mostly consisted of learning the rules of grammar and some very basic rules concerning style and the structure of essays, as well as required the occasional 2-3 page essay. In all that time I think I spent in total about half of one class actually learning material new to me. Furthermore, the professor, in an effort to reduce her workload, introduced what she called "peer editing". We got a worksheet and a randomly-handed-out rough draft from another student and started answering questions. Turns out that, on the first essay, this random student had both ignored a direct answer from the teacher about the style of the topic and promptly wrote it at about a seventh-grade literacy level. The only bright side to this whole thing was that I got an A+ in the course and the professor invited me into her Honors Western Humanities classes. :D
I'm sure there are plenty of them for Americans. go find one. now. wat u still doin. go now!
Hahahaha, maybe he/she has no life?

Okay, posting this both here and at reply 110 This is FML, not LETS-SHOUT-ABOUT-RELIGION.com. (so far as I know that's not a real website..... just so you all know that) While non-religious myself, I also understand that it does have a lot of benefits for a lot of people, and find the "Religion is pointless, outdated and idiotic" type comments very offensive. Just because it doesn't help you, does not mean it doesn't help people. It gives moral guidance, a sense of purpose, a community, and its also comforting to think there is someone watching over you. Those are all great things that are built into religion. However, I find a lot of the response comments equally offensive. "You're going to hell" comments are just as rude. I know at least Christians are supposed to leave the judging up to God (Admittedly I know very little about other religions).Telling them that they're going to hell isn't your job, nor is insulting them. You're entitled to your opinion, (believing they will go to hell) but you are not God, adn you don't actually get to decide those things. Both sides of this really need to stop it and grow up, or else take it somewhere off FML, because I'm going to guess that most people here get just as annoyed as I do seeing it.
I hate religion. I'll send you a postcard from Hell! Have a nice time being ignorant!
