When i did that my mom took my laptop away... It was probably for the best...
Shes 18 and doesn't know about water bills?
I don't know about you, but for us, water might as well be free. It's between $50 and $100, depending on the season, quarterly. If someone takes an extra-long shower, it might be a couple cents. No one worries about it. Is this not the case elsewhere, and are we just lucky?
Hmm time to bring out the old flusher
By any chance was she quoting '8 Simple Rules' and the reference just bypassed you?
well I could see who she would think that. I'm assuming she do's not pay the bills. I remember when I was 10 that I didn't know that you had to wash your private area in the shower. but yea she is old enough to were she should know that.

Let her pay a bill and then see how she feels about her shower length.
Just do what my mom used to do, bang on the door and yell until she gets out. Or invest in a shower timer.
