You little shit

Today, one of my students tried to bribe me $200 to change his grade. When I said no and told him he was lucky I didn't report him, he went to the dean and told him I offered to change his grade for money. I'm now suspended and under investigation. FML

Next time, don't warn them, just report it.

Sounds like someone has a Grade A attitude

Get a lawyer and sue his sorry ass off.

While this sucks, you're an idiot, OP. You tell a student about discipline after you've done all the paperwork. Even when they're caught red-handed, they try to weasel out of it. Most of them are con men, plain and simple. Now that I'm done being an ass, here is better advice. Always have someone in the room transcribing the conversation when talking with a disgruntled student. This is what being a TA taught me. Students will try to find extra credit, a curve, or any other "edge" before working hard on what they are supposed to do.

WOW! Did the stupid dean look at your records?? I would talk to his other teachers. There might be another honest one.

You did the right thing, karma will get him back.

Sorry to hear that, OP. I hope the Dean realizes the truth!

that's why you install a camera in your homeroom. insurance

I hope the class was something easy like English Comp I. He's going to have some fun in, I don't know, everyother class.

whatever happened to kids just changing their grades themselves? This generation, I swear -.-" I hope you're fighting this OP or doing something and I hope that kid gets in trouble, it's kind of crap a Dean would take a runt's word over a teacher.

That's when you bite back and say, "When you prove that the student has lied, I want a full, written apology from the student" it's a he said she said :( Or you can seek legal advice and get a lawyer to write a letter, threatening court action. My concern for you is that this can affect your career and will always be on your records, true or not
