By kb10 - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff

Today, I got arrested for shoplifting. I don't know what's worse, that I stole a one dollar bottle of chocolate milk, or that I didn't have the dollar to pay for it. FML

I would say what is worse is the fact you thought you could just take something that was not yours and get away with it! If you were really thirsty go drink some water out of a tap! At least you can't get done for that.

I could understand stealing bread or some other long lasting food, but chocolate milk? That's a want, not a need. You could've done without.

I'm the kind of person who thinks shoplifting food isn't as big of a deal as other things like clothes. You gotta eat.

Prison is probably the single worst place you could send petty thieves. A person who likely only stole something small for cheap thrills or even necessity is not very likely to grow up to be a serious criminal. Putting them in a facility housing hundreds of skilled criminals is a great way to plant the idea that crime is the only and best way to go. I'm not suggesting that we let shoplifters run free but treating them like serious hardcore criminals is a terrible idea.

You probably doing it wrong, you take two out of the cooler, walk around looking for something to go with it while you pocket one of them, then "change your mind and put the second one back, then buy something small and walk out
