Today, I went shopping with this girl I like while my girlfriend was busy. We ended up going grocery shopping to make dinner together, and I ran into my girlfriend's parents. FML

everybody has different definitions of cheating. maybe he would never cheat, just wanted to hang out with her. if he truly likes her, he owes it to himself and his girl to explore his feelings. that way, she wont be lead on, which SUCKS, as im sure we all know. and also, he shouldnt be with somebody he isnt completely happy with. but he doesnt have to cheat to find out how he feels, he could just be with her, hanging out as friends. and if his girl trusts him, which, if its a healthy relationship, she should, then this really shouldnt be a problem. there was no indication of lying going on here. its just all awkward up in this joint

It would depend on the type of relationship, not the seriousness. Since this is on FML obviously this would not be acceptable to the girlfriend. By saying 'girl I like' instead of friend and seeming like it would only be the two of them it would imply it was supposed to be a date.
