Heads up OP. A goal is a goal! While you sit on the bench for the next few games you can see how it should be done. Just tell your coach you were trying to confuse the other team by working your way from the back up. Good luck.

dude I feel your pain, only goal I ever got was apparently after the ref blew the whistle and the other goalie had stopped guarding their goal

It's okay. Things like this happen. But, hopefully you were playing defense and were trying to block a goal, instead of what my six year-old did. He got the ball ad dribbled all the way back to his own teams goal and shot on them. He scored, lost them the game, and is still telling everyone he won the game.
