I'm more interested in the circumstances. Where were you that you were able to just go up to her window? Were you a hobo on the side of the road? Did you get out of your car just to go up to her window? I probably would have maced you too.

Depends what state they're in, some states it's legal to shoot anyone you think may pose an immediate threat. OP, a stranger to this woman checks out her car, then walks upto her window, she maced him (far less severe than shooting), so a judge could see how the woman thought she was under threat.

I'm just gonna assume that there probably are not all too many black people left in these states, right? Just cause... y'know, those poor old ladies who are scared of black people and then the fact that pretty much every single person above the age of 13 carries a weapon around.

Maybe, but starting a conversation hardly constitutes a threat. There would have to be a weapon visible, or physical contact should have been made. Just talking to someone is a long way from a threat :P.
