Unreasonable

Today, I am one year away from getting a university degree. Unfortunately, my parents just kicked me out because I wouldn't drop out and work for free at our family's gas station. I'm now broke, homeless, and have no way to pay for school. FML

No offense but your parents are idiots

well your parents are assholes. no real parent would do that, a real parent would make sure you graduate college and get a better job in order to be more successful then them.

Based on my experience, dorms really aren't that bad. The issue is that they're expensive. More expensive than getting an apartment usually.

Personally, I would have called them bastards.

Clearly the op is old enough to live in his own yet he's been living in his parents house while they payed for his degree. Seeing as this was posted during the break id say he was asked to work and got pissed. Even if they asked him to drop out its their money he's spending.

fml posts submissions from years ago. In all reality you never know when they are submitted. You would think with all the observant superpowers here one of you would have caught that

How dear you OP only think of yourself.

lets think since u obviously do. minimum wage (even tho they wont get paid at all)and with the constant thought that u could get robbed or depending on what career they want to pursue in have a nice decent job that can support them,a partner and children and other things that they want. i choose gas station for free no questions asked.

Okay, I think you mean the other way around. When OP gets their degree, they can have a career and make the money they would need to support him/herself and a future family (if they are planning on having one). What their parents are asking them to do is to throw that chance away and work for them, earning no money whatsoever. They then kicked OP out for choosing the former option so OP can actually make a living. Now, tell me, who is only thinking of themselves in this situation?

I thought this is sarcasm, sorry if im naive

This is definitely up there as one of the most degrading and assholish things you can do. When parents don't give two ***** about their child's well-being, then they are the definition of a despicable human being.

I agree with the sentiment, but crappy parents are still very much "real" parents, unfortunately there's a lot of them...

Posted during a break. Clearly the op isn't paying rent and his parents are paying for college. He should have compromised and done something to hell his parents out. There are plenty of people who's parents don't help them at all with their degree. What's he been doing all this time? Did he not have a job ever that he has no savings? Can't he live in a dorm?

This makes me sick to my stomach. Life throws adversity at us, but I ENCOURAGE you greatly to keep focus on the goal and to push through and get your degree. Please do NOT give up!

man thats some bullshit. your parents are a couple of lowlives.

Low life's that have payed for most of his degree and let him live with them all this time. Most likely he was asked to hell it or they kick him out. What's he been doing all this time? Dose t he have any sayings seeing as his parents have payed for everything?

Are there any other family members you could ask for help? Maybe someone else will help you, or at the very least, shame your parents into action. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to go for a loan of some kind. Don't give up now!!

I could understand if they made you work for 'free' if they were paying your education expenses, but trying to make you DROP OUT in order to work for them for free? Yeah, that idea can **** off. Go to your uni and explain to them and see if there's anything they can do. They may know of loans you could get or emergency housing they might be able to set you up in. And when you get your degree, a kickass job and badass place to live you can tell your parents to go **** themselves. With cacti. Covered in hot sauce. Up the arse.

Seeing as how much of an asshole these selfish pieces of crap are, they'd probably like taking cacti, covered in hot sauce, up the arse.

They payed for most of his degree and let him live with them during it. Judging by the timing of the post I'd say he was asked to work for free and help out during the break or be kicked out. If his parents have payed for everything then did he not have a job ever? Doesn't he have savings? Lots of people don't have help from there parents and still go to college! Why can't he? He only has to pay himself for ONE YEAR! He should consider himself lucky!

Same here I don't know any parent who would do that

I'm more confused by who would click the "you deserve this button" seriously

What the hell dude that's ****** up

It's actually disgusting that he expects his parents to pay for everything and not even help them out in return

Tell your parents the can pound pavement and pump their own F - ing gas. Sorry OP but they are Morons with a capital M. Don't give up.
