If you have had your first blood, then you are clearly a woman with duties to fulfill. Act fast before you become a disheveled matron of 25 whom no man will touch.
25? Shit, I knew I'd forgotten to do something...
Alright that leaves me 6 months to get married and reproduce XD
What. The. Hell
Tell them the same thing I tell my parents when they asked why my husband and I haven't procreated yet: it will happen when we want it to, and it's not your decision or your business when it does.
It's ok op. They just probably want to see grandchildren before they die. Plus they're old it's not like their opinions will mauger in the next 10 years (hope the butthurt FML community knows I'm joking)
Great grandchildren*
it doesn't seem like they know u are joking. # triggered
My bad
Man I sound really mean in this. I apologize for ever writing this
I see their point, most girls are knocked up at least once before 17 in the **** capital of the USA.
Your comment is not only stupid, but inaccurate. Teenage pregnancy is most common in Texas.
What do you mean you see their point? You realize they're criticizing OP because she HASN'T gotten pregnant yet, if she got pregnant they'd probably be happy, she's fulfilling her "duty as a human being." Also, is Florida the "****" capital of the US or something, do we have the pregnancy stats to back this up? Even if it is, what 2 people do consensually and legally is really none of your business. And if they do end up pregnant, well as long as they take responsibility, in whatever way that may be, then I think you should just keep your mouth shut about it.
@13 they are saying they see OPs grandparents points because they think OP's a failure because OP doesn't have kids yet and according to them most people at 17 in Florida already have kids.
Nope, teen pregnancy is most common in Arkansas.
It's okay, Op. Most of the time grandparents like things to be how they were in their day. I bet they are proud of you too.
Look, OP, I know this is probably hard to see, but they just want what's best for you. If you don't hurry up and find a husband to procreate with, how are you going to make fun of YOUR granddaughter for things that you perceive as shortcomings but that are actually responsible and right for her?
Grandparents can be like that, older generation standards. Mine, although they don't attack me or think I'm a failure, they also pressure me with the marriage and child stuff. They've been doing it since I was 17, "got a bf yet, we want some great grand babies," "when I was your age, I was already moved out and had 2 kids." That's cool grandpa, but me and my education come first, marriage is at least 5yrs away and kids are at least 10. You should confront them, tell them that you're barely an adult, you just got your independence you want your own life before you become responsible for someone else's.
get a doll and say that is your child
my sister did this with a build a bear bear and gave them the birth certificate to prove it.
Time to prove them wrong op. . . Not necessarily the spouse part, but do something great to show them up, or for yourself for that matter. Use said criticism as your fuel to kick ass
Better than pregnant at 16
How? Being pregnant at 16 gets you onto reality TV shows.
They get paid a nice paycheck on those shows!
The paycheck PROBABLY doesn't cover the medical bills for treating the damage that is inevitably done to the mother's body, the 305k dollar cost of raising an average child to majority, let alone the inevitable medical bills for the psychiatrists more than a decade of those girls likes find up need.
