And why didn't you try to kill it?
Did you think it was her pet?
You obviously haven't seen Men in Black...
Somewhere miles away, a giant bug monster will hear the *Crack* of the crushed earwig. and then you better be runnin
My first thought exactly. The stupidity of people these days
Why kill it?? They're creepy looking yes, but they're basically harmless. Just take it outside.
I agree with 60 all the way... A lot of people think they can sting because of their tail but they're actually totally harmless. I used to run a pet supply place and we had wolf spiders like crazy that would prey on any crickets that got loose. My employees were always calling me over to scoop up the wolf spiders (they are also harmless) and take them outside. Bugs may freak you out but the majority of them that you find creepy are the beneficial ones that are constantly killing and eating the ones you should actually be worried about... Such as Mosquitos. The tiny mosquito is the #1 most dangerous living creature to mankind and one of the biggest threats to our worldwide health.
While they may be relatively harmless, they WILL pinch. Not painful, but enough to let you know that they're there. Also, I've made an agreement with all the bugs in my yard. If they stay outside, they may live. But as soon as they cross that threshold into my house, its open season.
I don't know about anyone else, but I find it very difficult to summon the courage to kill one of those nasty things.
Perhaps it is time to have the office checked and possibly "sprayed" to get any creatures out. Anyway, that was kind of rude, not to mention disgusting, from the woman's behalf. Hope things get in order quick, OP.
Maybe she's an insect alien like the cockroach dude in men in black.
Attack of the earwigs! Unfortunately, poor Agent Earwig never made it all the way to his destination, thus failing his destiny. It is a truly sad time, when an agent comes so close and then, just as he thinks he is finished, after having climbed over desk, floor, up chair, arm and head and into hai, to die only inches from the ear; his final resting place. RIP despite your displacement, Agent Earwig. You have served your cause well.
What the hell??? It's a friggin earwig... Not a roach. She was just the very unlucky woman who happened to have one hide in her glasses case. Do not be so quick to spray everything with pesticides... pesticides kill bugs for a reason... They are neurotoxic! Not just to bugs, but to you and your family. The only reason you don't suffer symptoms that you can notice is because you are so large compared to tiny insects. If you have a valid roach, termite, bedbug, flea, etc infestation... THEN it's time to treat. But you only treat until they're gone and avoid that stuff as much as you can. You don't want to just be spraying and exposing yourself to neurotoxin over a stray earwig.
Why kill it? It's not the earwigs fault it was there. As gross looking as they are I would have just taken it outside.
Reminds me of the bug alien from men in black.... I wonder if you tried to kill it would she have thrown you against the wall
Yeah, you never really know with people these days I mean she did just let it go.
The best is the evil bug in Family Guy that says 'good'
Holy shit run
Calm your panties women. It's just an earwig.
What could she run from if it's already in her hair?
Or her panties??
I hate bugs of any type, even though id never kill one.
Not sure what an "earwig" is?
Neither, it would be great if someone explained :)
8 and 13, its a small bug that likes small spaces. It can be parasitic. The best thing to do is if you're not squeamish, you can use google/wikipedia.
Everyday I'm googlin googlin. You should try it.
Thanks #14, I was planning on googling it but then I was thinking that it could come up with some type of fetish for wigs on your ears or something strange like that hahaha
Earwigs make up the insect order Dermaptera, found throughout the Americas, Africa, Eurasia, Australia and New Zealand. With about 2,000 species[1] in 12 families, they are one of the smaller insect orders. Earwigs have characteristic cerci, a pair of forceps pincers on their abdomen, and membranous wings folded underneath short forewings, hence the scientific order name, "skin wings." Some groups are tiny parasites on mammals and lack the typical pincers. Earwigs rarely use their flying ability. Yea it is straight from Wikipedia. Copy and paste
I never knew that earwigs could be parasitic or that they could fly....
Earwigs aren't parasitic, that's a myth stemming from their name. on VERY RARE occasions one might crawl into and get stuck in a sleeping persons ear, but the same can be said for any insect of a similar size. Besides their pincers, which are actually pretty weak, they're completely harmless. And they dig little nests for their babies and carry them around like kittens and it's kinda cute.
Hate to ask, but what is an earwig? From the name of it, it sounds disgusting, but I'm from Australia and I'm pretty sure we don't get them over here.
I'm from Australia as well and yes we do get them here. This is a really bad description of them but it looks a bit like the front of a beetle with the back of part of a large flattened centipede. Then at the very back are two pincer-like things. For the most part they're pretty harmless.
#21 did a pretty good explanation - but doesn't anyone read Enid Blyton anymore growing up?
Yes 9, sadly we do get them over here. They creep me the out, ever since one little shit head in primary school told me that they crawl in your ear and make you go deaf! Lying little bastard..
did you ever say anything to her about it? That's disgusting!
I probably would have gone on a rampage trying to kill it, possibly breaking the customers glasses more as well.
