Dont let your boss undermine your issue. Disabilities are legit and it sucks how, regarding "invisible' ones, some people assume they are like fictional thing that the disabled persons made up to get special treatment or something. Definitely an "innocent (disabled) unless proven guilty (not disabled). Anywho, is your boss the top of the food chain, OP? Or does she have her own boss. I'd go to him/her of there is one above her. Or HR if the company you work for has one. Most companies in most areas of the world have policies (not to mention national/local laws) that require disabled workers be accommodated for, especially if within reason asking for assistance due to being hard of hearing, is reasonable. you could probably at least get a scribe for meetings or get the meetings recorded (if you aren't completely deaf) so you could read/listen at your own pace/volume level... not to mention getting seats near the presenter at presentations and a memo ( if op is ok with this)to your co workers stating how to handle communication with you. the kind of stuff in the case you aren't completely deaf or that if you and the company can't afford a sign language translator ( for meetings, important stuff as I'm unsure if a company would hire one full time... that would probably have to done through government aide or something..

As someone who is deaf in one ear I know how much of a pain hearing loss is. Simply tell her to "talk louder" and use her big girl voice.
