Today, my now-ex dumped me at a house party, which I then couldn't leave, as all my things were at his house, where I was meant to be staying. FML

I don't understand why anyone would do something like this. If you are breaking up with someone, it likely isn't or at least shouldn't be a spur of the moment decision, so any decent human being should have the decency to find a kind way to do so, without causing unnecessary drama.

In all fairness, she didn't state the reason why she got dumped. For example, if I was in a party and my significant other was under the influence and happened to get it on with another dude, I'd certainly dump her right then and there.

I hope you mean EX-boyfriend! Oh, wait, you do. Couldn't you have spent the night at a hotel, and collect your stuff the next day?

Here's what you do; ask for his keys, get your stuff from his house, then toss his house key away after you lock the doors.

So? Go to his place, pick your shit up and leave like a big girl. Get on a taxi or go to a motel. Respect yourself! It's important!

I'm wondering if OP means the house party was at the now-ex's house and they physically couldn't get their stuff out of the house because of all the guests and they didn't have anywhere they could stay and no money for a hotel room. Because, y'know, not everyone has a couple hundred dollars hanging around.
